Jamestown Advanced Products Corporation as a Site Sponsor

Jon Wehrenberg started Jamestown Advanced Products in 1987. He wanted a company that had skilled workers that took pride in what they produced and were paid well. He succeeded on all accounts. He and his wife Diane bought their first Prevost in 1990 and in their many travels, Jon saw opportunities in the campground industry that Jamestown Advanced could take advantage of. Jamestown started producing fire rings, grills, picnic tables, benches, etc. for the private, state and federal campgrounds. In 1997 we added power outlets to our catalog and have had much success. In 1999 Jon and Diane decided they had enough of corporate America and moved to Knoxville, TN. Their only child, Wendi bought the business from her parents and has continued the growth of Jamestown Advanced.

A note from the founder: The thing I am most proud of the company is that it got its start by building products previously manufactured in Korea. It was because of the employees who were provided with considerable freedom to manage their own part of the process of manufacturing that the company not only succeeded but did well. The first line of products were gravity separators, and it went on to produce a range of products previously manufactured offshore, mostly in China.
